My wife and I are still here at sandals checking out today. The resort needs updating. We had a beachfront room smells like mildew. The service here is very, very poor. The best service we got was in the Mexican restaurant. We called the front Desk for things like soap, shampoo that they never refilled and it never came. It was our anniversary somebody came to the room and said we will come back and they never came back. I am a sandals, royalty customer I will never stay had another Sandals property. This property ruined it for me. The people are very rude. They don’t really care because they’re not getting tips. I asked for diet sprite. They said they were gonna get it never came. Definitely not premium liquor. The food was average nothing outstanding. I would rate this hotel 2.8 to 3 stars at its best. Alcohol drinks are horrible. Not every person is rude but majority of people don’t care at all. I have friends that are coming in for a week so I’m gonna tell them to cancel and go somewhere else. When it comes to housekeeping, they never mop the floor they never clean the glass doors They never vacuum very poor housekeeping. Very unsatisfied customer. Trust my review, I don’t sugarcoat anything. I travel everywhere and the best I would give it is a 3 star because of the beach. I see reviews of five star here totally false. When I checked out this morning, the guy asked me how is my stay from 1 to 10 I gave it a five just because of the beach and you’re on a nice island really should’ve been a three. We enjoyed our trip overall, but we wouldn't return. Thankfully we had butler service which was incredible!! They were very attentive and made our trip enjoyable. The service at the restaurants was less than stellar. We rarely had a server that greeted us warmly or smiled. It seems the "no tips" policy gives little incentive for them to go the extra mile. We ordered room service one night and they NEVER showed. We tried calling the room service number after 30 mins and no answer repeatedly. The operator also couldn't get an answer. I spoke to the manager the next day and did receive an apology. She was going to speak to the food and beverage director, but we never heard from them. We waited up until 1am for the no show. Activities were limited. Weather was amazing!!!!!! Our suite was outstanding. (Romeo and Juliet Penthouse Butler Suite.)

First time to Sandals Antigua having holidayed usually in Jamaica (Beaches). Had a fantastic time. A lovely resort, lovely staff and lovely locals. The rooms were good and the restaurants plentiful and excellent (with a special mention to Violet at Eleanor's who was so helpful.) My wife and I are keen divers and the Dive team were an absolute pleasure - very thorough but equally great fun. Also, with a slightly shorter flight time from the UK of 8 hours and a twenty minute transfer, it made for a great break. We will definitely return.

A wonderful all inclusive hotel. It's the people who work here that make it a lovely place to come and enjoy. Bobby takes you on a nature walk around the hotel grounds it's a really interesting tour,and the ladies get a bouquet of flowers picked by Bobby from the flowers and plants that grow here .The snorkelling trips are amazing and I would highly recommend those trips. There's an array of trips from the hotel to do . I must mention the food and restaurants in the hotel absolutely superb all of them. But it's the wonderful people who work here everyone one of them so friendly. We will definitely come back

My husband and I were just in Antigua for our honeymoon. We stayed in the Mediterranean Romeo and Juliette butler suite and we absolutely loved it! This was our first Sandals experience and we would highly recommend it. The food was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the beach was pristine. We wanted to emphasize how amazing our butlers N’kozi and Marleen were. They really went above and beyond for us and were always available whenever we needed them. Also, the resort was able to accommodate our special dietary requirements for the duration of our stay at no additional cost. Thank you Sandals Antigua for the most memorable honeymoon!

We had a wonderful time in Antigua. Everyone was amazing, especially Antonio in the dining room, Michelle in the photo shop and Sandy in the loyally shop. We loved the beach, snorkeling and all the amenities. Amazing beach and staff! Sandals never disappoints!

Excellent place to stay, has a main pool and bar with large hot pool with plenty of sunbeds and parasols.and amongst trees and shrubs a smaller pool and hot tub in a quieter location. Beach and sea at front of hotel with plenty of sunbeds and sun shades. Many restaurants with a good selection of food and drink. Well worth a visit

I can’t say enough amazing things about this resort. This was mine and my husbands honeymoon, and our first time at any Sandals resort. I truly have no idea what people have to complain about here, everything from service, food and the ease of having to COVID test for the trip home were too tier. Each meal was more delicious then the next. We stayed in the sunset bluff poolside room, which was clean and beautifully decorated. We honestly spent most of our time at the Main pool and the entertainment was great. Especially with Charity running the games! The gym is WONDERFUL and has such a huge array of equipment. The one thing I will say is, if you don’t have the butler service (we did not) we had to wake up at 6:30-7am to get a spot by the pool. We both said this was the most amazing vacation we have ever taken. The staff truly went above and beyond, and contributed so much happiness to our honeymoon! We will return.

The resort is beautiful. The beach and pool areas are great and well staffed and security is watching the beach area. Never had a bad meal. The restaurants and food are really good. The staff everywhere are amazing and hospitable. The Rondoval cabins are well located but old and outdated. But the butler service is great. We will go back!

Sandals Grand Antigua was a great, relaxing vacation. The staff was amazing and always made us feel welcome. There were great restaurants and we never ate at the same place twice. There is always something going on and something to do. Sailing, snorkeling, horseback riding and more. You can check their site for the specific activities and when they're available. We met a lot of friendly people from all over the world who were happy to share experiences and drinks. I couldn't leave a review without mentioning the cats. There are a lot of cats roaming around. They're very friendly. If you don't like cats it shouldn't be a problem. If you do like cats (we do) you'll probably make a friend or two (we did.) It was not an inexpensive week, but it was well worth it. We've recommended Sandals to our friends. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, carefree vacation.

Finally got the chance to go there for my honeymoon and was never let down from how amazingly beautiful it is there. The beach is baby powder soft and the water is so idealistic in temp and waves. Did a couple of excursions and had a wonderful lobster lunch after snorkeling an absolutely bustling coral reef. The pool and food amenities are top notch and the staff really do go out of there way to make every detail exactly as you imagined. Already booked another week with Sandals and sure there will be more in the future.

We had the absolute best time on our honeymoon in Antigua. The resort is absolutely breathtaking! Very romantic but also had a great atmosphere. The crowd of people ranged from younger to older, but it was so much fun and everyone was so nice! The grounds are beautiful, the staff is amazing and always went above and beyond to accommodate any of our needs and wants. The rooms are very spacious, the food was delicious and the main pool was nice and big! We would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to have an unforgettable trip! Our butlers were Shaq and Shaun and they were great! We will definitely be back!

It was an absolutely gorgeous vacation and resort. The food was incredible, and there is something for anyone to eat. They also can take into account dietary restrictions for you easily. The room was really nice, there were events every night you could be a part of. The pool had a swim up bar and everything was really relaxing. The ocean was beautiful and warm and we spent a lot of our time on the beach. We didn't have a hard time finding a seat for the most part. The beach is not private and that is the only thing you need to be aware of but it didn't affect how much time we spent at the beach or impact how much we loved the resort. The staff worked really hard to make sure we had everything we needed and everyone was really friendly.

Beds were uncomfortable. We were woken up every morning by housekeeping, weren't given a do not disturb sign until the last night. We asked housekeeping to add us to the evening rotation but that didn't stop them coming in the morning. Our bar was also only stocked one time after asking for it. It makes it seem like it'll happen daily. But overall it was nice. I am a picky eater and I had a hard time finding food I enjoy eating. 80% of the staff is crazy nice. But a few people were just blunt or even made noises like they were annoyed. However we did enjoy our trip a lot. We had a lot of fun on the island of Antigua. Althea at the bar was amazing. We loved seeing her almost daily.

Our fifth visit to a Sandals Resort. Great beach, great location. Excellent scuba instructors. Not many restaurants and difficult to obtain reservations at some. (IF "All Inclusive", why are reservations required??) Room (#201) was dated and in need of refurbishment. House Keeping was lacking such that we were forced to request (normal - not extra) wash cloths and towels three times in one week.

Went to Sandals for the first time for a destination wedding/honeymoon for just the two of us. We left with forever friends! All the employees are friendly and helpful. The whole resort is very well maintained and beautiful. The pool/beach areas were clean and well kept as well as the gardens. Plenty to do! Great food, great entertainment, and great company. Will return again in the future. Will never forget this vacation.

The views are amazing the staff is friendly and helpful butler service is wonderful. The entertainment is great every day of the week. They have great onsite pubs and swim up bars. The beach is beautiful white sand with calm waters, lots of water sports to choose from. The spa is calm and relaxing. There's several restaurants to choose from as well as 24 hour room service (if you get the butler service) otherwise it stops at 10pm. There's several excursions you can book to explore beyond the resort as well as activities you can participate in on the resort. The weather here is perfect for the most part in the mid 80s while we were there. There is a few mosquitoes so you might want to pack mosquito repellent. There is also tree frogs that carry on all night for us this is not an issue but some people don't enjoy the sounds of nature. There are a few island cats here the rule is the same for them as cats at home if you don't feed them or give them attention they won't bother you.

Sandals Grande Antigua was an amazing experience in a tropical paradise. There are two sides to the property - the Caribbean side and the Mediterranean side. We stayed in a bungalow on the Caribbean side and it was beautiful and very centrally located. I can't wait to go again and stay on the Mediterranean side in the middle of the action. The food was outstanding. There are three restaurants that take reservations, those are a must, as well as seven other places to eat at any time. Definitely some of the best food I have ever had. The staff were super friendly and welcoming the whole time. During the day there is quite time at the beautiful and clean beach, or fun hanging out with others at the large pool with the swim up bar. You can always find fun activities there. The middle pool also has a swim up bar as well as daily water volleyball games. There are several other smaller pools you can use for relaxing or hanging out with friends. There are pool tables, shuffle board and a piano bar as well as night time entertainment and a pub with dancing and karaoke. To help you relax, the Red Lane Spa is a must. They have several spa packages to choose from, but it will definitely help you relax and enjoy your vacation or special occasion. No matter what the occasion, you should check out Sandals Grande Antigua. I promise you won't be disappointed!

**I edited this in October 2019 to take out some personal details but this was originally posted in 2017** I want to share my experience with all of you in hopes that I can spare anyone else from the trouble we have had with the Sandals Resorts. My fiance and I have been trying to plan our wedding at the Sandals Resort in Antigua for the past few months. It has been a complete struggle to get anyone on the phone to answer questions and we have been stood up for multiple phone meetings. We chose to work through the struggle in order to avoid the hassle of changing resorts, flights, ceremony details etc.. Today, I received an email, instead of a phone call, asking me to call Sandals regarding some changes to our wedding (which is less than three months away). Upon calling Sandals, I was told that the resort will be closing for maintenance work until December. After taking some time to digest the fact that Sandals has just told me that our wedding can no longer be held there, I called them back. I was then told that the only sort of compensation they are offering for this humongous inconvenience is that they will "transfer our booking to any other sandals resort at no additional cost, and give us one night for free." I am in complete shock at Sandals lack of compassion and accountability and their unwillingness to help. Considering the fact that this was 100% their doing and they are CANCELLING OUR WEDDING, not just a nice vacation we had planned, I would have expected them to bend over backwards to help us (they've had to know for at least a year that they were planning to shut the hotel down for months, this sort of thing doesn't just happen overnight). Needless to say, we have cancelled our reservations with Sandals and are now having to start this wedding planning process all over again just 77 days before our wedding. This is, by far, the most disappointing travel experience of my life. Please, please, please spare yourself the hassle and trouble and do not stay with any of the Sandals Resorts
